Hello to those who are looking at my blog to see my progress on this project!
Du Papier is a store that I want to design in the building at 501 Government. The store would be a small paper stationery store that sells regular products as well as an assortment of recycled paper. The store also has a recycling component that would receive paper from the community then make it into paper in the facility. There is an upper portion of the store that serves as a small archive of papers and contains a space for community workshops on paper making. Upstairs also houses four studios for artists that work with some form of paper.
It's concept is derived from it's name. The French word for Paper is recognizable yet is not completely familiar, making it a place to be explored, visited and translated. It seeks to not only tear into the art of paper making and sell products that creatively interpret this fiber, but also to promote awareness of recycling and modernize the uses of refurbished materials.
If you have any questions at all about it- please email me at any time!
